Hi folks, hope this post will help you to organise(or re-organise) your study for step 1.
As per the tips and tricks, its simple - STUDY WELL !
What i did - I studied kaplan notes, UW and First Aid (like everyone else).
Ideal plan is : Do 2 readings of Kaplan, then start UW (TIMED MODE WITH 48 Qs BLOCKS). Do UW twice for 2-3 months (First subject-wise, then mixed) along with 2 readings of kaplan. Some people also make a final reading of kaplan after that. and give the exam in 3 weeks after u finish with UW(otherwise, there is a tendency of evaporation of memory ! ;-) ). I did first aid for Embryo, BS and the patho images. All in all 4-5 times kaplan and 2 times UW.
It may seem to be elaborate and extensive plan but i ve seen ppl doing it for 6-7 months and gettin 99s consistently !! But ofcourse u can mold it according to ur strength, weakness and available time.
Yes, its madness to run behind materials and notes. Don't do that, kaplan and UW is quite enough. BUT, the notes i ve posted are not covered anywhere. Otherwise, Im wise enough to ignore them if they were useless.. ;-)
Morever, u can also give NBMEs (online & offline) to assess where u stand. I would suggest to solve form 2, 3 & 4 offline and form 5 online. Still its ur personal choice !
MOST IMPORTANT : DO BEHAVIOUR SCIENCE AS GOOD AS U CAN ! (its the only subject that will get u above 95, if u r good at it ! )
Guys, despite all this hard work and studying for 7 months for step 1, I wish I had a good result to boast off. But, nevertheless, Hope to cover it up in Step 2Ck. All is not lost yet ! ;-)
All the best, wish all of u get some 9s in the result !
